Wild Flower Meadow Project
14th September 2019
To mark the Season of Creation 2019 Chiswell Green United Reformed Church has decided to develop part of its field as a wildflower meadow. It has been recently well publicised that over the last 75 years Britain has lost 97% of its wildflower meadows with disastrous effects on wildlife, especially pollinating insects and birds. The National Horticultural Society, The Wildlife Trust and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds are amongst many voices who are encouraging all those who can to plant wildflower meadows. CGURC is delighted to be able to answer that call. On 14th September we will be clearing an area of the field and sowing the seeds. Church members, hall users and members of the local community are invited to come along at any time from 10.30 to help. Refreshments will be provided all day.
